Day 45: Bear One Another’s Burdens

“Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.” — Galatians 6:2 (NKJV)

Jesus didn’t turn away the weary—He welcomed them. He said, “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” (Matt. 11:28). His heart was moved by compassion. He touched the leper, fed the hungry, wept with the grieving. Jesus didn’t avoid burdens—He bore them.

Paul calls us to do the same. “Bear one another’s burdens…” means more than offering sympathy. It means stepping into someone’s struggle. It means walking with them, lifting what’s too heavy to carry alone. This is love with sleeves rolled up.

We often think of ministry as standing on a platform, but ministry often looks like standing beside someone in their pain. Listening. Praying. Helping. Sometimes it’s simple—making a meal, running an errand, sending a text. But it’s never insignificant.

When you bear someone’s burden, you fulfill the law of Christ—the law of love. Not the old law of performance, but the new command Jesus gave: “Love one another as I have loved you.” That kind of love lifts.

And here’s the truth: you’re not meant to carry your own burdens alone either. The Church is a body. We need each other. Isolation is a tactic of the enemy, but connection is the strategy of Christ.

When we bear one another’s burdens, we become living expressions of Jesus—His heart, His hands, His compassion.

Today, ask the Holy Spirit: “Whose burden can I help carry?” You may not have all the answers, but you can offer your presence. You can offer your strength. And in doing so, you offer Christ.

Burdens shared are burdens lightened. Love lifts. Grace walks with. And Christ is seen.
