Day 41: Love Is the Greatest

“And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.” — 1 Corinthians 13:13 (NKJV)

Jesus didn’t just teach love—He demonstrated it. In John 13:35, He said, “By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” Not by our knowledge. Not by our gifts. But by our love. That’s the distinguishing mark of a follower of Christ.

Paul echoes this truth powerfully in 1 Corinthians 13. After listing spiritual gifts and incredible accomplishments, he strips it all down to this: if you don’t have love, you have nothing. You could speak with angelic tongues, give everything to the poor, or even lay down your life—but without love, it’s empty.

Why? Because love is the nature of God. It’s the motive of the cross. It’s the heartbeat of heaven. Faith and hope are powerful, but they look forward. Love is present. Love is action. Love is eternal.

In a world filled with noise, arguments, and division, love still speaks the loudest. It’s patient. Kind. It doesn’t envy or boast. It’s not proud, rude, or self-seeking. It keeps no record of wrongs. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

And here’s the good news—you’re not expected to produce that love from your own strength. The love of God has been poured into your heart by the Holy Spirit (Romans 5:5). His Spirit in you enables you to love like Him.

So today, don’t just pursue spiritual depth—pursue love. Let it guide your decisions, soften your responses, and fuel your relationships. You’re never more like Jesus than when you’re walking in love.

Let love be your loudest testimony.
