Day 37: Spirit-Led Ministry

“They were forbidden by the Holy Spirit to preach the word in Asia… So they passed by Mysia and went down to Troas.” — Acts 16:6–8 (NKJV)

In John 7:2–9, Jesus’ brothers urged Him to go up to the Feast of Tabernacles and make Himself known publicly. To them, it seemed like a strategic move—good timing, the right crowd, and maximum visibility. But Jesus refused. Why? Because the Father hadn’t said to go. Jesus wasn’t driven by opportunity or pressure—He was led by the Spirit. And that made all the difference.

Paul understood this, too. In Acts 16, he and his team were “forbidden by the Holy Spirit to preach the word in Asia.” That seems strange at first—how could preaching the gospel be the wrong move? But Spirit-led ministry isn’t just about doing good things—it’s about doing God’s things, in His timing, in His way.

Ministry is not a one-size-fits-all strategy. It’s not just about passion or open doors. It’s about walking in step with the Spirit. Paul didn’t push forward just because he had momentum—he listened. And because he listened, he was redirected to Macedonia, where revival broke out.

The Spirit sees what you don’t. He knows the hearts you’re sent to reach, the timing that’s best, and the strategy that will bear the most fruit. When you let Him lead, you avoid unnecessary resistance and step into supernatural results.

Being Spirit-led doesn’t mean being inactive—it means being intentional. It means daily yielding your agenda and listening for His promptings. It means sometimes saying no to good things so you can say yes to God things.

Today, depend on the Holy Spirit to guide your steps, your conversations, and your decisions. Whether you're ministering to a friend, leading a group, or simply going about your day, trust Him to lead you. He knows the way—and when you follow, fruitfulness follows you.
