Day 2: That I May Know Him

“That I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death.” — Philippians 3:10 (NKJV)

Paul wasn’t satisfied with simply knowing about Jesus. His heart burned with a deeper desire: “That I may know Him.” This wasn’t the cry of a new believer—this was Paul, seasoned in ministry, still pressing in for more. He longed for real fellowship, not religious routine. And he wasn’t chasing comfort; he wanted both the power of resurrection and the fellowship of suffering—whatever it took to walk closely with Jesus.

Jesus had already extended this invitation to all who would follow Him: “Come to Me… Learn from Me… and you will find rest for your souls” (Matt. 11:28–29). Not just salvation from sin, but deep, restful relationship. He wasn’t only offering an escape—He was offering Himself.

Many believers admire Jesus from a distance. They respect His teachings, follow His example, and even serve in His name—but they’ve never truly taken the time to walk in daily intimacy with Him. Relationships take time and attention. Opening your heart to Him—remembering His goodness, His faithfulness, and His love—will move you from knowing about Him to actually knowing Him. That’s what He desires. That’s what you were created for.

Knowing Christ means walking with Him in every season—not just when life is good. It’s learning to hear His voice in the silence, feel His comfort in challenges, and recognize His power at work even in weakness. Resurrection power isn’t reserved for the afterlife—it’s meant for today. And fellowship with Jesus in suffering means you're never walking through trials alone. He is always faithful, even in the fire.

This is the Christian life: not just doing things for Jesus but doing life with Jesus.
Make it your pursuit—not just to serve Him, but to know Him. Let your prayer echo Paul’s: “That I may know You more.” As you do, He’ll meet you in power, walk with you through challenges, and shape your life with purpose. Intimacy with Christ is the difference between religion and resurrection life.
