“For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but faith working through love.” — Galatians 5:6 (NKJV)
Jesus said, “If you love Me, keep My commandments” (John 14:15). He wasn’t demanding performance—He was inviting relationship. Love is what makes obedience joyful, not burdensome. It’s the difference between religion and relationship.
Paul teaches that faith works through love. But 1 Corinthians 13 reminds us that even if you have faith that moves mountains, without love—it profits nothing. That’s a sobering truth. You can operate in spiritual gifts and quote every promise, but if love isn’t the motive, it will fall flat in God’s eyes and in people’s hearts.
God’s faith in you flows best and draws people to Him when your love is evident first and foremost. Love opens the door for truth. It softens hearts. It makes the Gospel believable. Without it, even faith can become harsh, cold, or self-centered.
And here’s the foundation: God is always loving. That’s why it’s not just about checking your love walk—it’s about taking time to receive His love for you. When you meditate on how much He loves you, when you remember His kindness, patience, and forgiveness, love starts to overflow from your life.
You love because He first loved you. The more you stir up that truth, the more freely you’ll forgive, bless, and believe the best about others.
So when your faith feels stuck or dry, go back to love. Not your love—His. Let His love fill you up and overflow to everyone around you. That’s where faith flourishes. That’s where Jesus is truly seen.
